An organization is responsible for personal information under its control and shall designate an individual or individuals who are accountable for the organization’s compliance with the following principles.
BUCHNER MANUFACTURING’s Privacy Policy applies to its Board of Directors, Management, employees and contracted employees. The administration of our privacy policy is the responsibility of our Privacy Officer.
Identifying Purposes
The purposes for which personal information is collected shall be identified by the organization at or before the time the information is collected.
Personal information is collected: to confirm, process and fill orders, to analyze business trends, help us address problems and improve our products and services, to help us understand your product preferences, to notify you about price changes, new products and promotions (unless directed not to), to enhance our website and protect access to it, to determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, detect and investigate suspicious or fraudulent transactions, or activity that violate our terms of use, to contact you if necessary regarding your transactions with us, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies and/or for other administrative purposes.
Our customers and clients provide the main source of information but BUCHNER MANUFACTURING will also ask to obtain information directly from a third source where the individual does not have the required information.
Consent
The knowledge and consent of the individual are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information, except where inappropriate.
Implied consent is granted by our customers and clients permitting collection of personal information through a telephone call, credit application, discussions with one of our employees, our website, surveys or contest/promotion. Information such as name, address, phone number, postal code, email address, or credit card number may be obtained. We may maintain a record of your product interests and the nature of your purchases. We may combine all of this personal information with personal information about you that we acquire from our joint marketing partners, or from unrelated third parties including financial institutions and government agencies. Limiting Collection
The collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by the organization. Information shall be collected by fair and lawful means.
Only that information which is required for the above stated purposes will be collected. Although an individual's Social Insurance Number may be requested in an application for confirming identification of the individual to a credit reporting agency, provision of this personal information is optional. The individual may provide alternative forms of identification, such as date of birth and driver's license number.
We may use "pixel tags" (also called "web beacons" or "clear gifs"), which are tiny graphic images, and other similar technologies on our website and in our emails. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention
Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.
Personal information will be used for only those purposes to which the customer or client has consented with the following exceptions, as permitted under PIPEDA:

BUCHNER MANUFACTURING endeavors to ensure that any personal information provided by the customer or client in their active account is accurate, current and complete as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the information has been collected, used, retained and disclosed. Information contained in inactive accounts is not updated.
Safeguards
Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

Individual Access

Challenging Compliance
An individual shall be able to address a challenge concerning compliance with the above principles to the designated individual or individuals accountable for the organization’s compliance.

If determined that the complaint is well founded, the Privacy Officer will take the necessary steps to correct the offending information handling practice and/or revise BUCHNER MANUFACTURING's privacy policies and procedures. If it is determined that the complaint is not well founded, you will be notified in writing.

Amendment to BUCHNER MANUFACTURING's Privacy Policies
BUCHNER MANUFACTURING's Privacy Policy has been revised effective March 23, 2011 and is retroactive to January 1, 2004. This policy is subject to amendment in response to developments in the privacy legislation. The Privacy Officer will review and revise the Privacy Policy from time to time as required by changes in privacy law. Notification of any changes in the Privacy Policy will be posted on BUCHNER MANUFACTURING's website.
